Giggle and Learn Early Education and Care Childcare centre is a privately owned, a family run business setting new industry standards in child care and early childhood education.

How early should I waitlist my child?

It is best to place your child's name on the waitlist as early as you can as it can be quite extensive.

What are the Staff child ratios?

The ratio of teacher to children is regulated by the government and are different in each state. For NSW the ratios are:

  • Babies 8 weeks - 2 years 1 Teacher : 4 Children
  • Toddlers 2 years- 3 years 1 Teacher : 5 Children
  • Preschool 3 years- 6 years 1 Teacher : 10 Children

What qualifications do the educators have?

Each child's room is overseen by a qualified room leader who must hold the minimum requirement of a Diploma in Children's Services. At Giggle and Learn, we encourage our educators to work towards a higher qualification that they already have which may include working towards a Certificate 3 or Diploma in Children's Services qualification or participating in further study such as a university degree.

A Working with Children Check is also a mandatory requirement for all staff who work or volunteer in some capacity at Giggle and Learn.

Do Giggle and Learn educators have first aid and anaphylaxis training?

All educators working directly with the children must maintain a current first aid qualification, anaphylaxis qualification and an asthma management qualification to be able to care for your child in case of an emergency. If your child requires, asthma medication, an epi-pen or ana-pen you must notify the office. Giggle and Learn must ensure that qualified educators are always in attendance at any place children are being educated and cared for by the service and immediately available in an emergency.

What do I need to bring for my child each day?

Will fees be charged for my child being away sick or public holidays?

If your child is away sick on their enrolled day, fees are still payable while you still have an active enrolment with Giggle and Learn. If your child’s enrolled day falls on a public holiday, fees are charged for these days as well.

Does Giggle and Learn allow children to attend if they are unwell?

The health and safety of children is our highest priority at Giggle and Learn, so children must not attend if they are unwell. Sick children can also compromise the health and safety of all children.

Is there a minimum number of days?

The minimum enrolment at Giggle and Learn is 2 consecutive days which will help with your child’s transition to childcare. Anything less can be too upsetting for your child as they cannot build a relationship with their teachers and their new friends. It can also be quite challenging for our teachers to plan a program for your child if they are only attending one day a week.

Am I able to claim Government Rebates if I enrol?

Yes, Giggle and Learn is a registered Child Care Benefit approved child care service. This means that you can claim the Child Care Benefit and/or Child Care Rebate once you have registered with Centrelink.
